Just a regular Thursday

Sorry guys I didn't get to the Thrift Stores this week so no Thrifty Thursday today.  I have also been falling down on the Photo a Day Challenge.  I did get one for today that I will show you because it was easy!

Messy:

Eeek! How embarrassing that I let my desk get like this.  Don't worry about 2 seconds after I took this picture I cleaned it up.  Now to figure out what to do with that stack of Lucky Mags that I cant bear to part with.

Old Navy

I know I don't normally post on the weekends and post deals even less but right now Old Navy has kids jeans on sale for $10 and hoodies too.  Guess where I am going today?

And if you sign up for their emails you get a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase.  Combine that with a free backpack offer today only and I am going to get school shopping out of the way! So glad I actually have money right now to take advantage of these offers.

Thrifty Thursday #2

Let me start by saying I like this new weekly feature.  It's really fun for me.  I hope you like seeing my treasures too.  When I was in High School I was a thrift freak.  Seriously I loved thrifting and had the best closet because of it.  I am glad this blog got me back into it.  Now on to the treasures.

This week I didn't get myself one single thing! I made the mistake of taking the Little Man with me and he was the lucky finder of thrifty gold.  For some reason thrift stores make him uncomfortable I don't know why.  Maybe its because everything is used? He always tells me that he is freaked out when we are there for too long.  You know what cures that? Buying him something.

This week he was the proud recipient of 4 new VHS tapes.  He has a tv in his room with a tape player so we are always looking for new movies for him.  He got some good ones too this time.  The first one I found was "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad, Day".  I didn't even know there was a movie to go along with the book.  This has been a favorite in our house for a long time, especially when the Little Man has what I call "Eeyore days".

Then he found two Star Wars movies, Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. And one of the Indiana Jones movies.  The funniest thing about these movies is that Little Man seriously thinks that Indiana Jones and Hans Solo are two different people.  He just doesn't understand that Harrison Ford is the actor who plays them.  Here are his treasures:

While I didn't find anything I loved enough to bring back into the house I did find some fun stuff that made me think about it.

Like these adorable pig salt and pepper shakers:

And this hoodie is from my high school.  I thought I probably shouldn't get it since we go to the rival high school almost everyday for Little Man's swim practice.

If I had even an inch of wall space left in the house I would have gotten this. Someone made this out of a Guinness can.

A New Month, A New Outlook

Ok so I know Monday's post was not the greatest ever.  Seriously who wants to hear me whine? Certainly not me.  Today is a new month and that means some good things.  Like....

  • I hired a girl yesterday to come stay with the little man while I work.  Now I can actually 100% focus on working and maybe do some more of this blogging thing.  If she works out and can really help me this week then we will have her back for the rest of the summer a couple of days to give my mom a break too.
  • I am going to try my hardest to do the Photo a Day Challenge from Fatmumslim.  I have been following her blog for a few months now and always tell myself I am going to do it.  Well today is the day! I am going to attempt the challenge.  Does anyone want to join me? If you do here is the calendar.  It's going to be fun. I can feel it!
